ATCAS #256 - Monochrome

We're asking for monochrome cards for the latest Addicted to CAS Challenge #256.

I chose shades of aqua blue as my monochrome color but didn't consider how very difficult it would be to photograph, especially when I used reflective hotfoil and shiny embossing powder.  D'oh!

  • Pinkfresh Studio Holiday Large Sentiments

CAS on Friday #281 - Spring

Spring is here in the northern hemisphere and we're celebrating at the CAS on Friday Challenge. Come join in the fun!

Sadly not a single one of my tulips came up this year so I'm making do with Crackerbox Stamps Flowers and Butterflies colored with Copics.

Will I plant new tulips this fall?  I'm thinking not. Our weather these last few years has been really wonky so the tulips don't last long because we have a sudden spring heat wave.  Boo!!

Crackerbox Stamps - Interactive Birthday

I'm over on the Crackerbox Stamps blog today laughing myself silly.  I would love to get this birthday card.  Truly!

It's a simple pull-tab interactive card--yes, simple.  And look how cheerful it is despite the vulture hovering!?  LOL.

SOSS #249 - F for Fold It (Fancy Fold)

Oh, how I dreaded working up a project for the latest Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Challenge #249 F for Fold It (Fancy Fold).

Fancy fold?!  I prefer a single fold, thank you very much, but I must say I do love how this turned out.  Just don't expect me to do another any time soon.

This is a storybook type card called the 5-Minute Trifold Accordian Card which takes a 5.5 x 12 piece of paper which you fold into a booklet and then decorate as you will.

I went minimal with my card in that I used the vintage floral paper for the base and a variety of simply stamped retro images and sentiments created using my label maker.  I actually do have a stamp that says "Happy birthday beyotch" from CZ Design but I wanted the font to be retro courier. Yes, I'm just that persnickety.

So my card when folded looks like a standard card with a bit of snark but then you flip the pages and the snark hits a whole 'nother level. I love it so so much!

I don't know where I got the 12x12 paper in my stash but it looks like Stampin' Up to me.

ATSM #465 - Diecuts and/or Stencils

This fortnight's Addicted to Stamps and More Challenge asks that you use diecuts and/or stencils on your makes.

I created a gingerbread neighborhood on my holiday card. Aren't they so so cute?!  Just look at all that detail.  The Honey Bee dies have so many tiny pieces but once I got into the groove with a pile of wreaths, a pile of lamps, etc, the elements came together fairly quickly.  It also helped that there were so few colors involved.

Rain, rain, go away . . . except at the Addicted to CAS Challenge #255!

I used that MFT Somebunny set and paper-piecing again along with the MFT Layered Umbrella to create an adorable Easter/spring card. I particularly love the combination of patterned paper on this one.  So fun and cute!

CAS on Friday #280 - Dies Only

It's "dies only" at the latest CAS on Friday Challenge #280.  I've been trying to use stuff I either haven't ever used or at least haven't used in a long time.  That's where the Elizabeth Crafts 5 Part Pine tree dies come into play.

I used a white glitter cardstock to cut that out then used my Copic airbrush to try to ombre color the layers.  It's so sparkly and pretty in real life.

I added Concord & 9th Christmas tree decorations from the Christmas Cloche dies set and impressed the card base with the Lawn Fawn Snow Flurries Backdrop to finish off the card.

Happy Birthday, 90s Style

A friend of mine who is of a certain age where he would get this reference to the song by Tag Team had his birthday yesterday.  Yes, so now he's another year older.  Yikes!

I hot-foiled some stars on the background using the Lawn Fawn Starry Sky Hot Foil Plate with a strip of Spellbinders Glimmer hot foil. I colored up the Taylored Expressions Feisty Square Calendar Card image with Copics and placed it on the black mat on the card front.

On the inside of the card I used an ombre ink pad on the sentiment to mimic the angle of the stars on the front. Subtle and cool effect.

ATSM #464 - Any Occasion

The latest Addicted to Stamps and More Challenge is for any occasion you can think of.  Birthday? Sympathy? Christmas?  Whatever tickles your fancy is on the menu.

I had the Lawn Fawn Starry Sky Hot Foil Plate out so decided to make a few backgrounds to have on hand. I love how they turned out and used them in short order to create a couple of holiday cards, pairing them with the Spellbinders Bottle Brush Trees Duo and Lawn Fawn Snow Flurries Backdrop.

Look how different they turned out just with the colors alone but also the glitter (swoon!) and change in sentiments.  It would be really easy to mass produce unique cards.
